How do I set up a Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) installment agreement?
If your driver's license has been suspended or your vehicle registration has been blocked because of unpaid Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) fees, you may be eligible to enter into an OMV installment agreement. Eligibility and payment terms are established by law. Louisiana Legislature

How to Apply
Step 1 - Contact OMV
Call the OMV Customer Service Center:
Select Option 3 for Installment Agreements.
OMV representatives will determine your eligibility and explain the next steps. You cannot enroll in a new installment agreement entirely online.
Step 2 – Complete Your Agreement
If you are eligible:
- OMV will send you an electronic contract.
- You must complete and electronically sign the agreement while working with the OMV representative.
- You must provide a valid email address to receive the agreement and future notifications.
Step 3 – Make Your First Payment
Your first payment is due when you enter into the agreement.
Future payments are automatically drafted using your selected payment method.
Payment Schedule
Monthly payments are generally based on the amount owed.

Businesses are not eligible for OMV installment agreements.

You can use the OMV Installment Portal to:
- View your payment history
- Print receipts
- Update your payment method
- Update your contact information
- Make additional payments
- Pay your balance in full
New enrollments must begin by contacting OMV. Existing customers can manage their accounts through the portal.
